ChatExport AI is built by Umbrabits — a small independent studio. We make Chrome extensions and productivity tools that run on the client, never upload your data, and respect that your time is finite. No analytics, no tracking, no dark patterns.
Why we built this
Most of our valuable thinking now happens in conversations with AI assistants. Those conversations live inside vendor tabs that log out, expire, get archived, or get reorganised. Six months later you can’t find the chat where you figured out the architecture, or where you nailed the rewrite of the proposal, or where you finally got the maths to click.
The fix should be: one click, save the chat as a real document. That should work across every AI you use. The result should be private — what happens in your browser stays in your browser. And it should not require an account.
Existing tools each got one or two of those right. ChatExport AI is the version that gets all four right.
Who builds it

What we won’t do
- Upload your conversation content. Not for analytics. Not for AI training. Not for anything.
- Add tracking pixels. No GA, no Mixpanel, no Hotjar. We measure traffic with Plausible (privacy-first, cookieless).
- Move free features behind Pro retroactively. If a feature ships free, it stays free.
- Sell or share user data with third parties. There is no user data to share — see security.
What we will do
- Ship every week. The changelog is real and recent.
- Answer support emails personally. [email protected].
- Cover every major AI platform that gains real usage. The changelog shows the cadence.
- Document the security model in plain English: /security.
