ChatExport AI Umbrabits [email protected]
1. Scope
This policy explains how the chatexportai.com website (the "website") handles information when you browse it. It does not cover the ChatExport AI browser extension, which processes everything locally and is governed by the separate Extension Privacy Policy. Nothing on this website has access to your AI conversations or anything you export with the extension.
2. Analytics We Use
To understand which pages and articles are helpful, we measure website traffic with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), loaded through Google Consent Mode v2:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4), analytics-storage consent defaults to denied, so no
_ga cookies are written until consent is resolved. Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a cookie banner, and GA4 only sets first-party analytics cookies (such as _ga) after they click Accept; if they decline, GA4 continues in cookieless mode (aggregate pings, no identifier stored). For visitors outside those regions, analytics consent is treated as granted and GA4 sets first-party analytics cookies by default. Your IP address is used transiently by Google to derive approximate, coarse location and to filter spam, and is not stored by us.
GA4 tells us things like: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world visitors came from (country/region level), what referred them (e.g. a search engine or link), and broad device/browser type. We use this only to improve the website and our content. We do not use GA4 for advertising, and ad-related consent signals remain denied.
3. Cookies
When analytics consent is granted, either by clicking Accept on the banner, or by default for visitors outside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, GA4 sets first-party analytics cookies (such as _ga) to recognise returning visits. Before you choose (where a banner is shown), or if you decline, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and GA4 runs cookieless. We never set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your browser may also store strictly functional preferences locally (for example, your light/dark theme choice), which never leave your device and are not used for tracking. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies and site data in your browser, which shows the banner again where applicable.
4. Third-Party Processors
The following third parties may process limited, non-identifying website data on our behalf:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics), policies.google.com/privacy
- Our hosting / CDN provider, serves the website's static files and may log standard request metadata (such as IP address and user agent) transiently for security and delivery.
Pro licenses and payments are handled by LemonSqueezy and are described in the Extension Privacy Policy.
5. Legal Basis & Your Rights
For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, our legal basis for setting GA4 analytics cookies is your consent, given via the cookie banner; if you decline, GA4 runs cookieless and we rely on our legitimate interest in aggregate, non-identifying measurement. For visitors elsewhere, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the website, balanced against your privacy. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies and site data. If you wish to exercise a right of access, correction, or erasure, contact us and we will respond in line with applicable law.
6. What We Do NOT Do
- Sell, rent, or share website data with third parties for advertising or profiling
- Place advertising or cross-site tracking cookies
- Build advertising or behavioural profiles of visitors
- Access your AI conversations or anything exported with the extension
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the website evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. If we ever enable cookie-based analytics or advertising, we will update this policy and add the appropriate consent controls beforehand.
