The short version: ChatExport AI processes everything locally in your browser. Your conversation content is never transmitted to our servers. The only external communication is for Pro license validation — and even that never includes your chat content.
ChatExport AI is a Chrome browser extension developed and operated by Umbrabits ("we", "us", or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the extension or this website you agree to be bound by our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use the extension.
We are committed to minimal data collection. The following table describes everything the extension may store or transmit:

When validating a Pro license, the extension transmits a non-reversible anonymised identifier derived from non-personal browser properties. This identifier cannot be used to identify you personally and is used solely to enforce per-device license limits. No conversation content, browsing history, or personally identifiable information is included in this transmission.
License validation requests are sent to our licensing infrastructure only when you activate, deactivate, or revalidate a Pro license. These requests contain your license key and the anonymised device identifier described above — nothing else.
Data is used solely to operate the extension: verifying Pro license validity and enforcing the free plan's daily export quota. We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose any data to third parties for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the operation of the extension.
Locally stored data remains on your device for as long as the extension is installed. Removing or uninstalling the extension also removes all locally stored extension data. License activation records on our servers are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to manage active subscriptions and are subject to deletion at our discretion.
LemonSqueezy — Pro licenses are sold and managed by LemonSqueezy. Payments and billing are governed by LemonSqueezy's own privacy policy and terms of service (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy). We do not have access to your payment details or billing address.
AI Platforms — ChatExport AI operates on third-party platforms (chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com) owned by OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google respectively. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to these companies. Use of those platforms is governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party platform.

The extension is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this policy at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the extension after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you must stop using the extension.
